In addition to the main clubhouse on Union Street, the Boys & Girls Club operates on site at Jewett Street School and Highland-Goffe's Falls Elementary. Program flyer: FREE YMCA Safety Around Water Program geared toward 4th grade students at the YMCA of Downtown Manchester’s annual Rock the Block celebration on June 17. Swimmers will learn how to respond if they find themselves in unexpected water situations such as performing a reach assist, how to reach the water’s surface if they submerge, and safely reaching a pool’s edge and exiting the water. The class will end with a short open swim. Free, registration required: bit.ly/ydt-water-safety

The state Board of Education is proposing changes to state minimum standards, known as Ed 306. As part of that process, a series of listening sessions has been scheduled around the state, including one at Memorial High School at 6 p.m. on June 5.
